Do you ever get tired of battling one problem after another in the development of your online business? It can seem as if every day is a challenge and every challenge is a headache. Why put yourself through the hassle? What if you fail?

These and similar questions run through the mind of virtually everyone who has ever owned an online business. There can be so much to learn and so many hurdles to jump it can cause owners to wonder if all the work is worth it.

If you have ever felt this way you are not alone. I think I’d be safe in saying the majority of online business owners have thought about giving up at some point.

Now that we’ve established that this feeling is a normal and natural part of your online experience as a business owner, what can you do to overcome this state of mind?

The first thing you need to really understand is you are not the first or last person to feel the way you do.

You need to understand that most online businesses can be similar, but are in no way the same. My experience in business will not be your experience. I can provide some tips and ideas, but the implementation of those ideas may be as unique to your business as DNA.

Get rich quick ideas are either non-existent (meaning you will not get rich with them) or they cannot sustain long-term wealth. What that means is that every wealth building idea that has genuine long-term worth will also have a component of patience and hard work in order to establish and build the idea into a viable business.

I think one of the things that kill most businesses is the inability of the business owner to allow their enterprise to grow. We don’t expect a newborn infant to know advanced calculus, but we are more than willing to apply similar expectations to our business ventures. This can be a bit like saying to our children, If you can’t learn ancient hieroglyphics by the end of Kindergarten you need to find new parents. Of course we’d never do that with our kids, but it happens every day with businesses. Initial expectations often exceed early potential.

One thing many online entrepreneurs are doing to help curb their impulse to run away is to network with other business owners and learn what they can about marketing practices that can benefit their overall operation both online and offline.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be researched to learn how best to develop a website to maximize benefit for both consumers and search engines.

You will need to see the power of positive advancement in your online strategies to affect supportive change.

Perhaps the real question you need to answer is how committed are you to your idea. This may be one of the best reasons to spend time evaluating the business concepts and how involved you plan to be in the ultimate success of your idea.
